Tastes as good as it looks!

Collegonzi Orange originates in the Montalbano region, in the ideal area of Collegonzi, and represents a unique experiment for the territory in fact, the technique of macerating white grapes, Trebbiano and Petit Manseng, is combined with aging in terracotta and barriques to create a multifaceted and unconventional wine. An original and versatile white wine that joins the Collegonzi family, the leader of Fattoria di Calappiano's production. Collegonzi Orange is the result of a limited production of Trebbiano and Petit Manseng grapes, grown on loose and deep hilly soil, rich in marine fossils and fragments. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature and involves small pump-overs to promote contact between the skins and the must. After about 7-10 days of maceration, the wine is racked. The free-run wine continues fermentation. A portion of the must from the Petit Manseng grapes ferments in barriques and terracotta containers, continuing aging on the lees. After about 3 months, the final blend is created. The wine has a straw-yellow color with intense golden reflections.

On the nose, it reveals charming aromas of white flowers, acacia, sweet spices, vanilla, and ripe citrus. On the palate, it is fresh and savory, with elegant mineral hints and a long, persistent finish of fruit, flowers, and herbal nuances.

Alcoholic fermentation of the must and skins begins at a controlled temperature ranging from approximately 12°C to 18°C, with gentle pump-overs conducted to encourage skin-to-must contact. After about 7-10 days of maceration, the wine is racked off the skins. The free-run wine then continues fermentation.
