Wine Woman Pty Ltd is the proud owner of Mt Franklin Estate and consciously deliberates the shift into land, vineyard stewardship, and long-term production.
Located in Franklinford on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, the estate sits on a dormant volcanic landscape. The mafic soils and cool-climate conditions shape both the structure of the wines and the rhythm of the vineyard & olive groves.
This is not a beginning, but an evolution — bringing together years of experience in wine with a focus on place, production, and building something that embodies community and locality.

The vineyard stands 360ft above sea level and is planted on mafic volcanic soils within a cool-climate environment, contributing structure, minerality, and balance to the wines. Planted over 30 years ago, the vineyard thrives in cool climate conditions unique to this part of Victoria. The name “Mafic” for the previous vintages produced ties in beautifully with the volcanic geology — mafic basalt rock soils formed from ancient lava flows around Lalgambook / Mount Franklin.

Planted over 30 years ago, the vineyard thrives in cool climate conditions unique to this part of Victoria.
Varietals include Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Pinot Grigio, & Chardonnay.
Alongside estate-grown wines, Mount Franklin Estate works will work in collaboration with neighboring vineyards to produce blended expressions: The wine maker is Tim Castle from Passing Clouds Winery. Our lead legend Viticulturalist is Sharon Hebbard.
